About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. This job is responsible for maintenance and operation of all equipment, including air compressors, in the Boiler/Refrigeration system. The individual in this role must be capable of performing mechanical repairs in all areas of their responsibility and be fully capable of operating all Boiler/Refrigeration equipment and support systems. This position offers a $1,250 sign-on bonus and up to $2,500 in retention bonuses. There are two plant facilities that make up the Moses Lake Production Campus. The selected candidate for this role will begin their training at one of these facilities and then will be assigned to one of the two locations after training is complete.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3+ years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
  • Basic electrical repair in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings and write detailed repair reports.
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions.
  • Ability to diagram equipment control problems.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 480-volt power and 24 control voltages to 120 volt electrical troubleshooting.
  • Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley SLC500 and MicroLogix series.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain open communications and productive work relationships with maintenance team leaders, operators, attendants, laborers, mechanics, maintenance supervisors, the shift manager, and all area team leaders.
  • Work inside the facility and outside, depending on work requirements.
  • Be available for weekend and overtime work to meet operational goals.
  • Work in extreme environments of hot and cold.
  • Fully understand the purpose and operation of the Boiler/Refrigeration system.
  • Make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings.
