AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Boiler Operator on First Shift located in West Plains, Missouri. The Boiler Operator is responsible for day-to-day operation and maintenance of boiler system.
Maintains and records proper chemical balance through water testing and adding appropriate amounts of chemicals determined by tests.
Loads sawdust onto tractor-trailer trucks using mechanized feed system and records transfer data.
Observes pressure, temperature, and draft meters on panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators.
Turns valves and adjusts controls to set specified fuel feed, draft openings, water level, and steam pressure of boiler.
Observes boiler and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and makes repairs, such as tightening pipes and fittings, pump repair, softener and dealkalyzer repair.
Maintains log of meter and gauge readings and records data such as water test results.
Makes periodic security checks of property utilizing designated routes.
Assists in performing and recording preventative maintenance and repairs of dry kilns and dust collection systems.
Must be capable of being trained to deal with power outages, mechanical failures, or interruptions to water supply that could create hazardous steam pressure conditions.
Must be able to work without constant supervision, including holidays and weekends as required by the job.
Perform any other duties assigned.
Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
Positive and Verifiable Work History.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess ability to obtain OSHA-approved forklift certification.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
