About The Position

The Boiler House Operator (Skilled Tradesman) is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Campus (DES) District Energy System that serve’s the medical, educational, and research facilities on the UAMS Campus. These systems are vital to the safety, comfort, and general wellbeing of patients, students and employees. This position is also responsible for resolving all problems and or emergencies that arise from these systems and associated equipment on the UAMS Campus.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of relevant experience in HVAC Systems Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Maintenance, Power Plant Operation, Plumbing and Piping Systems, Stationary Engineer Role, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance, or boiler operation.
Valid Arkansas driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record.
Ability to obtain Arkansas High Pressure Boiler License within 9 months of hire.
Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate.
Knowledge of central plant systems.
Watchkeeping and rounding documentation.
Mechanical proficiency.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a District Energy Plant.
Boiler Operator Certification.
6-10 years of boiler operations experience.
Arkansas High Pressure Boiler License.
