About The Position

The H GH HILL PLANT Department of the H GENERATION Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: NON-EXEMPT) The job function involves training to perform the duties of a Boiler Operator, maintaining proper housekeeping, performing unskilled manual tasks as directed, attending instructional classes as scheduled, preparing for qualifying performance tests for Boiler Operator, and assuming an emergency management role as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to identify and distinguish the difference between colors, including shades, hues, and tints.
• Must be able to pass minimum requirements for respirator use.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds.
• Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Plant Operator Selection System (POSS).
• Must pass the Job Sample Test.
• Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Trains to perform the duties of a Boiler Operator.
• Maintains proper housekeeping.
• Performs unskilled manual tasks as directed.
• Attends instructional classes as scheduled.
• Prepares for qualifying performance tests for Boiler Operator.
• Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency.
