This position is responsible for all Boiler Plant duties. Incumbent has been trained and demonstrates proficiency in the safe, economical operation of all Boiler, Chiller and ancillary control room equipment and monitoring devices. Fires, operates, controls, maintains and repairs high pressure boiler and steam generating systems, including auxiliary equipment to provide and control a continuous and efficient supply of steam to heat and power Hospital systems and equipment. Boilers may be fired by natural gas, fuel oil. Performs similar tasks for the production and delivery of chilled water to Hospital systems and equipment. Performs scheduled rounding, inspection and documentation of Boiler room to observe operating equipment, meters and gauges to insure that operation is in accordance with normal conditions and/or specified instructions.
