About The Position

Maintain and operate heating and cooling systems within the plant. Industrial Boiler operation and troubleshooting Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system. Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components. Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems. Verify readings in cases where conditions appear to be abnormal and record possible reasons for fluctuations or actions taken. Perform daily rounds and log readings. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) if required. Electrical trouble shooting / control circuits equipment operation /control set up/ panel operating Monitor pressure gauges, flow meters, thermometers and other measurement devices or equipment. Perform water sampling and treatment. Adjust control to maintain specified settings such as temperature, steam pressure, air pressure, water pressure, etc. Operate valves in order to control heat, steam, water, chemical flow and other mixes. Install, maintain and repair electro-pneumatic valves and direct control devices related to boiler systems. Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with specifications, as well as detect and locate malfunctions. Check fluid levels on gearboxes, lubricate bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following stablished checklist. Recognize, diagnose and solve mechanical failures, determine corrective actions needed, check blueprints, manuals and parts catalog. Perform timely repair and routine maintenance. Preventive maintenance on equipment. Deal with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs. Experience using power tools, saws, drills, impacts, grinder, etc. Should be able to work on high heat and cold environments, heights, confined spaces. Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time. Perform pipe repairs. Welding and fabrication skills preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Prior experience in Refrigeration/Boiler systems or equivalent degree from a technical school.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Experience using power tools, saws, drills, impacts, grinder, etc.
  • Should be able to work on high heat and cold environments, heights, confined spaces.
