Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in industrial steam and power plant operations and familiarity with electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, contractors, sales personnel, and other shop & service employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute ratio and percent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google App programs and use of a tablet and/or smartphone.

Nice To Haves

Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering studies preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilizes test equipment, meters, and one’s mechanical and electrical abilities to fire boilers and related equipment to ensure proper operation prior to and during installation.
Perform independent start-up of boiler and related equipment.
Interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Assists the Service team in conducting field service calls to perform start-up, troubleshooting, or other service-related activities as needed.
Perform basic electrical and mechanical repairs on boiler and auxiliary equipment.
Communicates well to new and existing customers to determine the nature of boiler-specific problems, provide equipment training, explain services and operations, and provide engineering support.
Completes required field service reports, which document work performed, nature of problem, hours worked, etc.
Problem-solving and ability to address issues and concerns.
Develops and maintains good customer relations and rapport.
Look for new sales opportunities and equipment improvements.
Promotes our products and services and associates favorably.
Ability to use hand and power tools, combustion analyzers, and multimeters.
May require some overnight travel and overtime.
Must be punctual, flexible, trainable, and a self-starter.
Able to think outside of the box and follow detailed directions.
