Headquartered in Lancaster, PA, our facilities employ nearly 300 people from our community. Every product that leaves our factory has been designed, engineered, and produced for exclusive use in North America. U.S. Boiler Company is a subsidiary of Burnham Holdings, Inc. We are looking for a 3rd shift Boiler Assembler to join our team! This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are 3rd Shift Sunday, 9:30 PM - 5 AM; Monday-Thursday, 6:30 PM - 5 AM; two Saturdays per month, 6:30 PM - 12:30 AM. Training pay is $21.44 per hour. After training, employees will earn incentive pay rate based on performance. This position will work on a team to assemble residential boilers. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and have experience working with hand and power tools.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with hand and power tools

Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products, and prepare products and other items for shipment
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verifies specifications by measuring and testing completed components
  • Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; and contacting appropriate personnel to supply inventories
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms as needed
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Line side material handling as required
  • Utilize lifting hoists or manipulators as required
  • Prepare for shipping finished product by palletizing, crating and loading as required
  • Utilize computers, scanners and printers as required
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management
  • Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as 5S, one piece flow, value stream mapping, set-up reduction, and more
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Cross train to other positions as needed
  • Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed
  • Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rated labor grade
