About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems in assigned areas by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Your participation in the continuous improvement process is required, as you are a member of the leadership team at the facility. Activities desired in your role as a member of the leadership team are safety audits, quality, process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your employees and your own current skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, thermal dynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations.
  • Follows standards set by McCain Foods Emergency Contingency Plan.
  • Manages the Boiler/Refrigeration department budget.
  • Manages the maintenance and operations in areas assigned.
  • Oversees Fire System Operations
  • Oversees Forklift Team Operations
  • Oversees PSM program
  • Oversees, directs, and trains assigned Maintenance staff.
  • Schedules and leads meetings for EIT, Safety, Vendors, etc.
  • Evaluates employees for schooling and training.
  • Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings.
  • Communicates any problems or changes in department appropriate personnel.
  • Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
  • Monitors areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement process.
