A great meal starts with great prep, and that’s where you come in. As a Prep Cook, you’ll be a vital part of our kitchen team, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. From prepping ingredients to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, your attention to detail and efficiency will help set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. What You’ll Do: As a Prep Cook, you’ll support our chefs by preparing ingredients, keeping stations stocked and clean, and assisting with general kitchen operations. Your work is essential in keeping our kitchen efficient and ensuring that every dish meets our high-quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in food preparation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow through efficiently.
  • Calm, clear thinking under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet prep and production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic and professionalism in a high-energy setting.
  • Willingness to follow recipes and adjust quantities as needed.
  • Stand for the entire shift
  • Frequently reach, bend, and stoop frequently
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs multiple times per shift over medium distances
  • Communicate effectively with fellow team members.

Responsibilities

  • Prep & Portioning: Follow prep lists from the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, measuring ingredients, seasoning proteins, and ensuring all elements are ready for service.
  • Ingredient Preparation: Wash and chop vegetables, cut meats, and prepare other food items according to recipes.
  • Organization & Labeling: Stock and label all ingredients in an orderly fashion for easy access.
  • Recipe Execution: Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards to maintain consistency.
  • Station Readiness: Maintain a clean and organized station while practicing proper food safety and sanitation.
  • AM Backup: Set up the steam table with proper water levels and heat food to service-ready temperatures.
  • PM Backup: Monitor the steam table during service, maintaining par levels and ensuring proper temperatures.
  • General Kitchen Support: Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and any other kitchen duties as needed.
