About The Position

As part of the Boeing | Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) HBCU Investment, the Boeing Regional Technical Talent Development Hub is a highly competitive, immersive program designed to strengthen technical talent pipelines between Boeing’s local sites and Priority HBCUs, as well as surrounding technical HBCUs and HBCCs. This two-day, all-inclusive experience provides students and recent graduates with targeted technical skills training, professional development, and direct engagement with Boeing professionals. Participants will gain increased awareness of Boeing’s career pathways, technical competencies, and workforce expectations, equipping them to compete for technical and professional roles at The Boeing Company while expanding Boeing’s reach within the HBCU/HBCC talent development ecosystem. The Boeing Regional Technical Talent Development Hub will be held May 5–6 in Huntsville, Alabama. Relocation assistance may be available based on candidate eligibility. Students graduating in May 2026, December 2026, as well as recent graduates, are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled at one of the proximal HBCCs: Drake State Community and Technical College Gadsden State Community College Lawson State Community College Shelton State Community College Trenholm State Community College
  • Be a May 2026, December 2026, or a recent graduate
  • Submit a TMCF-formatted resume (required for consideration)
  • Be available to attend the program in person on May 5–6 in Huntsville, AL
  • Please note travel dates are May 4 and May 7
  • Ability to climb, balance, kneel, bend, reach, twist, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry 10–50 pounds
  • Comfortable working around energized electrical sources, machinery, and constant noise
  • Ability to read from computer screens, printed drawings, and technical documents
  • Willingness to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), based on business needs
  • High school diploma or GED, and typically one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Completing required new hire training cycles to obtain and maintain certifications
  • Using computers in a production manufacturing environment
  • Setting up, validating, and working with jigs and tooling
  • Performing close-tolerance drilling and installation in critical aircraft structural areas
  • Using calibrated precision measuring tools
  • Working with fastener removal tools and techniques
  • Handling CFRP, aluminum, and titanium structural components, including drilling, sanding, and trimming
  • Reading and interpreting technical work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Utilizing software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, SAP, and internet-based tools
  • Operating mechanical lifts (e.g., ladders, scissor lifts, JLG bucket lifts)
  • Using structural assembly hand tools and air tools
  • Inspecting work quality and ensuring Foreign Object Debris (FOD) compliance
  • Adhering to strict safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements
