About The Position

The Body Repair Technician is responsible for making body repairs, major or minor, on all vehicles, and assist mechanics whenever needed. These essential functions include the following: Body panel removal, repair, and replacement Glass removal and replacement External mirror removal, repair and replacement Fiberglass and bondo repairs Decal installation and removal (internal and external) Seat onsert/cushion installation, repair and replacement (driver and passenger seats) Bike rack and mounting bracket removal, repair and replacement The candidate must provide a complete set of tools to efficiently perform the job described.   This includes a complete set of mechanic’s tools (excluding special tools) up through 1¼ inch size wrenches and sockets, including metric tools required to do the job up to 20 mm.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from the State of Michigan and submit a clean five (5) year driving record with application.
• Must possess a Michigan Chauffeur based “BP” temporary instruction CDL permit (T.I.P.) prior to hire date.
• Must possess a valid State of Michigan Group B Commercial Driver License with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement within 90 days of hire.
• Verifiable prior experience in body repair (light or heavy)
• Must possess a Fork Lift Driving Certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment.
