About The Position

I-State Truck Center is looking for an experienced Body Shop Paint Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Marshfield Wisconsin location. We are offering highly competitive wages! We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Paint Mechanic to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare, refinish, and paint heavy duty trucks, industrial equipment, and automotive vehicles, ensuring high-quality results and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive painting techniques, color matching, and surface preparation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive, industrial painting is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a body shop paint mechanic or painter.
  • Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, including sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and application methods.
  • Familiarity with different types of paints, finishes, and coatings.
  • Attention to detail and a strong eye for color and texture.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and techniques in painting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and filling imperfections.
  • Mix paint colors according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
  • Apply paint coats using various techniques such as spraying, brushing, and rolling to achieve desired finish.
  • Ensure even coverage and proper adhesion of paint layers by following established procedures.
  • Conduct color matching to achieve accurate matches with existing paint finishes.
  • Perform quality inspections to identify and rectify any paint defects or imperfections.
  • Use detailing techniques to blend paint finishes seamlessly and achieve a uniform appearance.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, paint booths, and mixing tools.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to prioritize work orders and meet deadlines.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of paint materials used, work performed, and hours worked.
