About The Position

As a Body Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring the bodywork of a variety of vehicles. Your expertise will help maintain appearance and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in auto body repair preferred.
  • Proven experience as a body shop mechanic or auto body technician.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment used in bodywork repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and work orders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • MUST be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in auto body repair.
  • Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Knowledge of modern vehicle safety systems and electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Assess damage and determine repair work needed on vehicle bodies.
  • Perform bodywork repairs, including dent removal, welding, and painting.
  • Replace damaged parts, including panels, fenders, and bumpers.
  • Sand, buff, and polish vehicles to restore finishes.
  • Align vehicle frames and unibody structures.
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and parts used.
