About The Position

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the collision repair facility, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, optimizing workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive repair industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in automotive body repair and management, ideally in a similar role.
Strong understanding of auto body repair processes and techniques.
Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in auto repair.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 30 days following date of hire.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in automotive technology or business management.
Experience with collision repair processes and techniques.
I-CAR certification or equivalent training in automotive repair.
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in body repair.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Mitchell, CCC One) and shop management systems.
Strong understanding of automotive technologies and repair methods.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Experience in performance management and staff development.

Responsibilities

Supervise and train body shop technicians and support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance team skills and productivity.
Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of repair jobs.
Collaborate closely and efficiently with insurance partners.
Monitor and maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe and working condition.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
Ensure exceptional customer service by managing expectations and maintaining clear communication throughout the repair process.
Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure repairs meet industry and company specifications.
Conduct final inspections on completed jobs to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
Develop and manage the body shop budget, monitoring expenses and revenue.
Prepare estimates and manage billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance requirements.
Test drive and relocate vehicles within the shop to ensure proper functionality after repairs and to facilitate workflow and organization throughout the facility.
Ensure the shop complies with all safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe working environment.
Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance shop operations.
Maintain satisfactory attendance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
