About The Position

The Body Sander completes the final stages of the Body Manufacturing process, ensuring each guitar body is either ready to be painted or shipped out to the customer, as is. They will prepare the bodies rough wooden surface by smoothing and shaping it to achieve a flawless texture, with careful attention to detail to meet part specifications and uphold the craftsmanship of the instrument.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of relevant woodworking, fast paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred
• A thorough knowledge of a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools
• Ability to stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period
• Ability to bend, reach and twist upper and lower body
• Ability to move items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards
• Ability to maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period
• Ability to maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period

Responsibilities

• Using a variety of sanding techniques to include hand, flat, pull strip, etc.
• Cutting routing channels
• Drilling wire channels
• Operating a router
• Shaping the body and blending its contours
• Smoothing imperfections on the body using a variety of techniques
