Manage materials used in automotive body exterior installed assemblies or systems. Depth of knowledge in one or more basic materials used in automotive body exterior components such as resins, elastomers, metals, and fluids. Understanding of compatibility of basic materials associated with secondary operations such as painting, rubber bonding, electroplating, etc. Develop and maintain global material and performance specifications, evaluate, and approve supplier products to these specifications. Direct suppliers in the development and application of appropriate materials. Support material cost reduction initiatives. Review, provide input, correct, and approve engineering drawings and bill of materials for Teamcenter / 3DX Notices. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Education Required Bachelor of Science in Material Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering or Chemical Engineering. Other related Engineering/Technical Engineering Degree considered. Experience Preferred Minimum of 3 years of Materials Engineering experience in automotive materials is preferred.
