About The Position

The Body Damage Manager at Avis Budget Group is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the fleet services function, which includes servicing, vehicle damage repair, and the in-fleeting and de-fleeting of rental vehicles. The primary goal is to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District. This role requires the development, implementation, and communication of operating plans that align with business and company guidelines. The manager will direct and control the maintenance, repair, and reconditioning of fleet vehicles, as well as manage the activities related to in-fleeting new and used vehicles into the rental fleet and de-fleeting vehicles for sale, auction, or other channels. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Body Damage Manager will manage the performance of team members by setting, communicating, monitoring, and updating goals for key performance indicators. This includes technician productivity, percent out of service, overdue idle cars, vendor cycle time, days to deletion, and venue quality average grade. The manager will also forecast, budget, and manage key financial drivers, ensuring that all financial aspects are aligned with the company's objectives. The role involves coordinating automotive damage appraisals and repairs, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring that established service levels and standards are met. The Body Damage Manager will partner with Fleet owners, District/City Managers, and external partners to prioritize workloads according to business objectives. Furthermore, the manager will handle all areas of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, training, recognition, and performance management, to foster a high-performance culture. Ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and practices is also a critical aspect of this position.
