The Body Controls & System Test Team is looking for a Body Electronics System Test Engineer to join our organization! Our area is rapidly growing and is being transformed due to the adoption of software defined architecture. In Body electronics system test space, we validate different customer facing features in functional areas like Vehicle Access, Digital key, Vehicle Theft, Compartments & Closures, etc. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in future technologies GM is introducing in Body electronics/Mechatronics space. The Body Electronics System Test Engineer will: Lead Body electronics feature, system and solution testing (manual and automated). Create, manage, and complete Body electronics software feature/system/solution validation plans (Behavior Test specification etc.) Develop test methodologies to support new technology launch. Lead test automation development and execution for relevant body controls products. Lead and execute certification relevant activities for body electronics software features. Collect data using advanced test equipment. Analyze, review results and document failures via PRTS, Jira etc. Author validation reports (CG190 etc.) Participate in Agile ceremonies (PI planning, DSU etc.) Additional Responsibilities: Lead system test issue resolution initiatives Lead best practices and process improvement initiatives. Support regulatory and compliance relevant activities for body electronics software features. Support program team reviews and demos. Maintain communication with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer/software engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in programming/scripting (Python etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Test automation framework (Autobot, Autoval etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in performing testing in multiple test environments (HIL, Vehicle, Virtual)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software Integration testing/System Integration testing and/or Feature testing
  • Valid US Driver License

  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.
  • A company vehicle will only be provided for this role by passing the Motor Vehicle Report review.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in electrical/computer/software engineering
  • Experience with vehicle and bench validation at component or subsystem level
  • Experience with data logging tools (Vehicle Spy, CANALYZER Tools etc.)
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) process and familiarity with Gherkin
  • Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira and other configuration management, version control and code quality tools
  • Experience debugging software/electrical/HW issues
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development using C/Matlab/Simulink and associated tools (Jira, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)
  • Quick to learn, ambitious, and willing to work hands-on with GM's vehicles and benches
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction
