The Civil Engineer III serves as Engineer In Charge in the Bridge Management Section of the Bureau of Bridge Maintenance, Inspections, and Operations, Division of Bridges. This role involves performing complex analysis of bridge load rating calculations in accordance with load rating policies, procedures, and Federal and State load rating directives. The engineer will sign and seal the Load ratings documents and perform the required structural analysis for City-Owned Bridges to ensure their safety against heavy weight Trucks and Cranes. Additionally, the position requires field inspection of bridges to assess their condition and gather information for project scoping as part of Request for Proposals (RFP) for the procurement of design Consultants. The engineer will also review budgetary plans for bridge rehabilitation projects and supervise subordinates in technical and administrative matters as required. The selected engineers will be flexible to work on fully or any of the tasks described above depending on the workload.
