About The Position

The Boat Livery Attendant's responsibilities include the daily operations of our Wellington Reservation boat livery. The livery operations include check-ins and checkouts, assisting patrons in and out of our kayaks, cleaning and sanitizing our kayaks, and carrying our kayaks which weigh up to 50 pounds. The aide will also assist in boating programs (kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding) throughout the county as needed. By the end of the season, the staff person in this position will gain a tremendous amount of experience working with boating participants of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. There is also the opportunity to gain experience working with several types of boats and boating equipment.

Requirements

  • Boating and trailering experience preferred
  • CPR/First Aid required
  • Ohio Boating Education Course certification or willingness to complete before the season
  • Operation of a small powerboat
  • Weekend and some evening hours
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check
  • Non-tobacco user
