Board Operator (Part-Time) - Dayton Radio
About The Position
Cox Media Group Dayton is seeking a self-starter and critical thinker with experience running a radio board to join their industry award-winning radio team as a part-time board-operator/producer. The successful candidate will be an expert at multi-tasking, tech savvy, and familiar with on-air radio equipment. This critical role involves managing and monitoring on-air programming and providing engineering support for local and nationally syndicated talk shows. The position is central to a fast-paced news environment, requiring the individual to serve as a technical producer for live newscasts and manage on-air breaking news and severe weather situations. The ideal candidate thrives on preparedness, innovating workflows, and multi-tasking during shows, with the ability to troubleshoot issues under pressure. Candidates should be confident running a radio board and on air, aiming to gain valuable airtime and industry experience. This position reports to the Assistant Program Director.

Responsibilities
- Flawless technical execution (running the board) for live newscasts, syndicated talk shows, as well as, breaking news and severe weather events
- Must be able to multitask and be very well organized
- Monitor multiple sources for breaking news, traffic problems and weather alerts
- Understanding and ability to implement Emergency Alert System
- Assisting anchors with breaking news/editing audio using Adobe Audition
- Voicing on air traffic reports
- Anchoring News
- Writing and voicing 3 big reports
- Screening and operating phone calls
- Clearing commercial inventory
- Voictracking for our music stations
- Production dubbing & producing
- Social media/web content production
- Uploading podcasts for local talk shows
- Working in conjunction with station on-air talent and station on-air clients, remote location equipment.
- Executing on air contests
- Maintaining 3 radio station simultaneously
- Other duties as assigned
