The Clerk of the Board Office is looking for a temporary Board Clerk to support Nevada County in both general and specialized administrative duties. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and will be best filled by a candidate who can stay organized and will conduct themselves in a professional and welcoming manner with colleagues and constituents alike. This temporary position is budgeted at 1,000 hours and will be offered medical benefits during Fiscal Year 25/26. The incumbent will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week for approximately 6 months or until 1,000 hours are reached. A Board Clerk is an integral part of the Clerk of the Board team. This position involves working with the Nevada County community both in person and over the phone, coordinating and communicating with staff in all Nevada County departments, and assisting the Board of Supervisors in all types of administrative tasks. Just as essential, Board Clerks act to further local governance and preserve history by taking an active role in creating and editing vital documents, preserving Nevada County's historical record, and maintaining accessibility to the public archive. All tasks require a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
