About the position

The Board Certified Social Worker Supervisor at CARE Counseling, part of the Optum family, plays a crucial role in enhancing behavioral health care delivery. This position involves managing and supporting supervisees in their clinical practice, ensuring high-quality care for clients, and fostering professional growth through reflective supervision. The role is hybrid, allowing flexibility to work both from home and onsite in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, while addressing the physical, mental, and social needs of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support supervisees in diagnosing, treatment planning, conducting therapy, care coordination, and client termination.
  • Maintain a caseload of 16 clients and supervise 6-8 supervisees.
  • Review and provide timely feedback on supervisee documentation, including diagnostic assessments and treatment plans.
  • Attend required meetings for supervisors and facilitate weekly staff case consults as needed.
  • Maintain records of all supervision sessions and submit them to admin staff monthly.
  • Effectively manage schedule to support supervisee learning and development.
  • Represent CARE positively and model professional behavior with internal and external professionals.
  • Develop a Supervision Plan and Learning Contract with each supervisee.
  • Support supervisee clinical and professional growth through strengths-based supervision and case consultation.
  • Arrange for supervisor coverage during planned or unexpected absences.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Behavioral Science or a related field.
  • Active Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota.
  • Licensed Supervisor with board approval to supervise Mental Health Practitioners and Clinical Trainees.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Licensed Mental Health Professional role.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work onsite or in a hybrid model with at least 2 days on site.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in outpatient mental health settings.
  • Experience in clinical documentation and diagnostic assessments.
  • Experience in treatment planning and maintaining a caseload.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) Systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply information from policy and procedure manuals.
  • Experience presenting information to various stakeholders.
