About The Position

This position is for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will operate as part of the district's behavioral support team. The BCBA provides behavior analytic services to support students with behavior, social, emotional, and developmental needs. The BCBA works collaboratively with educators, administrators, related service providers, and families to improve student outcomes using evidence-based behavioral interventions aligned with educational goals and special education regulations.

  • Ability to perform as an effective team player
  • Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and prioritize work to meet the daily demands of the building
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with students who demonstrate the need for intensive services
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering training to meet the targeted needs of the identified audience
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge and practice setting up structured environments
  • Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance
  • Knowledge of special education processes and procedures
  • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, or Education.
  • Experience in behavior intervention, specifically with children aged 3-21.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Good physical health and ability to implement behavioral strategies as well as to lift, dress, and position students as needed for self-care and safety.
  • Must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations

  • Prior public school experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Behavior Assessment and Intervention
  • Guide and support school-based teams in conducting special education Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
  • Support teams in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Ensure replacement behaviors and interventions are function-based aligned with the current FBA.
  • Evaluate student progress through data analysis and student observations.
  • Model interventions and coach staff in the implementation of the behavioral interventions.
  • Design classroom-based interventions and training for general education staff, to promote in-class functioning and access to academic instruction.
  • Help design tiered interventions to support students in the classroom.
  • Consultation & Collaboration
  • Consult with teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to promote inclusion of students in their least restrictive environment.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and child study team meetings.
  • Collaborate with Child Study Team members, including school psychologists, counselors, and special education staff.
  • Support inclusion and positive behavioral supports across settings.
  • Training & Coaching
  • Train staff on behavior strategies and classroom management.
  • Train building-wide staff, to promote in-class functioning and access to academic instruction
  • Provide ongoing coaching and modeling of interventions.
  • Support the implementation fidelity of behavior intervention plans.
  • Assist teams in developing proactive behavior supports.
  • Data Collection & Compliance
  • Develop systems for behavior data collection and analysis.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and revise as needed.
  • Maintain documentation aligned with IDEA, BACB and district policies.
  • Ensure ethical compliance with Behavior Analyst Certification Board standards.
  • Provide ongoing supervision for Registered Behavior Technicians.
  • Assists in additional duties as assigned by supervisor
