About The Position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator serves as an exemplary Direct Support Professional role model for the agency. The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator is immersed in all aspects of the Future Quest Behavior Services’ behavior assessments, behavior support plans, behavioral interventions and reinforcement plans, behavioral tracking and reporting, crisis intervention, and training of the direct support staff in the behavior program. The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator provides support for each associate enrolled in the Future Quest Behavior Services program and acts as a consultant for individuals served in other departments who may need additional behavioral support to be successful. TheBoard-Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator assists with formulating justification for behavioral services at intake. The BCBA may also attend Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings to convey behavioral concerns/progress/etc to CSCs, families, and care providers. Under the direction of the Program Director, collaborates with associates and other team members to develop opportunities for associates to realize their goals for employment, volunteerism, and an active retirement lifestyle, ultimately leading to a fully inclusive life in their community or the most appropriate setting for the individual.

Requirements

  • A BCBA is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and staff management experience are essential.
  • Experience with the implementation of positive behavior support techniques, as well as experience providing training/instruction/case management to adults with developmental disabilities, is required.
  • Must have a current California driver's license, 3 years’ driving experience, auto liability insurance, and a current certification in CPR/First Aid.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each person served has a behavioral assessment to determine the target and replacement behaviors that will be tracked, the motivation for the target behaviors, what the behaviors may be communicating, the individual’s learning style to inform prompts and praise, the most meaningful reinforcers, etc.
  • Develop a positive behavior support plan that can be used by direct support staff to support an individual to reduce target behaviors (proactive strategies), respond appropriately when target behaviors occur (reactive strategies), increase the use of replacement behaviors, and provide contingent and non-contingent reinforcement.
  • Work directly with DSP staff and associates to conduct in-the-moment training and provide direct support for successfully implementing behavior support plans and/or developing effective crisis intervention strategies.
  • Monitor associate progress through assessment tools/data gathered from instructors and conduct associate observations. The Board Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator provides crisis support, as needed, and assistance with self-advocacy and case coordination services for associates.
  • Contributes to the support team's development and implementation of person-centered planning so that each associate served can develop Productive and Personally Meaningful goals.
  • Ensures that Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans are written, approved, and easily accessible to support staff. Additionally, behavior progress reports are written and approved semi-annually and annually.
  • Ensures that behavioral documentation accurately reflects the support needed to achieve behavioral goals.
  • Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Coordinator will establish and maintain strong working relationships with associates, program managers, team members, and collaborating social service agencies.
  • Assist in developing systems to identify and remediate health and safety risks at all locations where the individual is served. Monitor associates for signs of illness/injury/abuse and provide follow-up, as appropriate. Intervene in medical, behavioral, and other emergencies.
  • Coordinate and provide staff training to ensure the highest quality of services is offered to each person served. Observe volunteer and/or community activities and provide written feedback to staff regarding training strategies and associate intervention.
  • Supports associate and staff behavior and safety at all times and assists with medical, behavioral, and other associate emergencies.
  • Act as a leader during behavioral/emotional crises in accordance with Tierra del Sol’s positive behavior support strategies and Handle with Care Behavior Management System philosophy.
