About the position

The position involves functioning in a supervisory capacity and providing oversight to all areas of programming, including the training of ABA Therapists and Interventionists. The role includes assisting in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, utilizing both discrete trial training and natural environment training models. Responsibilities also include facilitating the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families, providing model teaching and direct instructional support, and assisting in the development and implementation of assessment tools. The position requires collaboration with staff and families to promote positive student behavior and the creation of an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers. Additionally, the role involves engaging children and families on the waiting list for admission to provide supportive services and developing ABA-oriented training for caregivers. The candidate will also need to become certified in the PEERS model of care and assist in developing a clinic for this service.

Responsibilities

  • Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of ABA Therapist and Interventionists.
  • Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families.
  • Provide model teaching and other direct instructional support including practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction, caretaker/family training, and in-service instruction.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, conduct functional assessments and analyses, and develop appropriate behavior strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and families to promote positive student behavior.
  • Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers.
  • Assist in the development of behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers.
  • Engage children/families on the waiting list for admission to provide supportive services/ABA instruction.
  • Develop and provide a menu of ABA-oriented training for caregivers/families.
  • Become certified in the PEERS model of care and assist in developing a clinic for this service.
  • Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing consumer issues.
  • Submit mileage reimbursement as needed for travel to other schools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology or related discipline.
  • Current State Licensed and Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)).
  • Preferred - Classroom teaching experience.
  • Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among staff.
  • Experience working with various funding streams and other third-party sources.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases.
  • Understanding and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients.
  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with persons from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training is a plus.
