About The Position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) serves as a member of the Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools (GCCS) Student Services team, supporting students with behavioral and social-emotional needs across all grade levels (Pre-K–12). The BCBA provides expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), functional assessments, and behavior intervention planning to promote positive student outcomes and equitable access to learning. This position works collaboratively with school administrators, special education staff, teachers, and families to design and implement individualized supports aligned with schoolwide behavior systems.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience providing behavioral services in educational settings, preferably K–12.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Functional Behavior Assessment, data-based decision-making, and ABA principles.
  • Ability to coach and collaborate effectively with teachers and paraprofessionals.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Eligible for or hold a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) certification in Special Education, Behavior Analyst, or related area (preferred).
  • Experience supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) consistent with best practices in ABA.
  • Observe students across multiple settings to identify behavioral patterns, triggers, and reinforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to write measurable behavior goals and ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, and professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, and school teams on evidence-based behavioral strategies.
  • Support implementation of positive behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques within classrooms and common areas.
  • Consult regularly with building administrators and school counselors to address student needs and refine tiered supports.
  • Contribute to the design and monitoring of schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
  • Participate in student review meetings, crisis intervention planning, and restorative practices initiatives.
  • Partner with families to provide guidance on the consistency of support between home and school.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports as required by GCCS policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain BCBA certification and participate in continuing education to remain current with developments in ABA and school-based behavioral services.
  • Support the mission and values of Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools through culturally responsive and ethical practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance student success and campus safety.
