The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavioral assessment, intervention planning, consultation, training, and support to students, staff, and families within the Southern Ohio ESC Region. The BCBA plays a critical role in promoting positive student outcomes by implementing evidence-based behavioral practices, supporting individualized education programs (IEPs), and building staff capacity to manage challenging behaviors effectively.

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with student IEPs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Provide modeling, coaching, and consultation for staff to ensure fidelity in implementing behavioral strategies.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Design and oversee behavior support plans rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Deliver professional development and training sessions for staff on behavior management, crisis prevention, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education and student services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress monitoring, and services provided.
  • Participate as a member of IEP teams, providing expertise in behavioral supports and data-driven decision making.
  • Support program development and continuous improvement initiatives within the Region.
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or related field.
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Ohio Department of Education licensure (Pupil Services Permit/License) or the ability to obtain as required.
  • Experience conducting FBAs, developing BIPs, and supporting students with challenging behaviors.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in educational or school-based settings.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, special education requirements, and positive behavior supports.
  • Training in crisis intervention and safety procedures (e.g., CPI).
