Summary of Position: The Physician in Allergy & Immunology is responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and management services to patients with allergic and immunologic disorders. This role leads clinical decision-making, oversees patient care plans, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. The Physician maintains compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational goals to optimize patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Allergy & Immunology.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- Fellowship training in Allergy & Immunology required.
- DEA registration or completion of DEA Waiver
- ACLS and BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in outpatient allergy and immunology care preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and expertise in managing complex allergic and immunologic disorders.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Experience with clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and electronic documentation.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex allergic and immunologic conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans including pharmacologic therapies, immunotherapy, and other interventions.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as skin testing, pulmonary function tests, and laboratory evaluations.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding disease management, prevention, and treatment adherence.
- Collaborate closely with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nursing staff, and administrative teams to coordinate care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing medical education activities.
- Maintain licensure, certifications, and compliance with all applicable laws and professional standards.
- Provide leadership in clinical protocol development and implementation.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to other healthcare providers as needed.
- Engage in community outreach and patient engagement activities as appropriate.
