About The Position

The BMX Race Program Supervisor will oversee, continually develop, grow and manage the BMX Race Program at Woodward PA. Supervise all aspects of the BMX Race Program including staff, daily responsibilities, and develop a fun, interactive environment for campers. The BMX Race Program Supervisor will support the marketing, content, and development of the BMX Race Program sponsorship plan. The supervisor will help support the overall BMX Race industry relationships and developments. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations involved in running the BMX Race Program. This includes all scheduling, facilitating mandatory sessions, clinics, events and supervising all staff within the program. The BMX Race Program Supervisor will aid with parent-camper communications as needed.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Experience in action sports coaching required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies.
  • Demonstrated broad technical knowledge of management techniques.
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
  • Provide work related references upon request
  • Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting
  • Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work: Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed. Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Safesport Training Certificate
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
  • Some college preferred
  • Preferred experience in leadership
  • Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and develop staff
  • Supervise 10-50 coaches, counselors and zone coaches by scheduling, directing, and reviewing performance
  • Execute proper disciplinary action if deemed necessary
  • Support in leadership roles including cabin checks, orientation, registration and meetings
  • Execute the BMX Race Programming Playbook, including but not limited to camper scheduling, progression, curriculum, and sport programs/events
  • Continuously create and diversify the BMX Race Program to implement new ideas, competitions, and work practices
  • Provide unique perspectives and feedback that aid in the development of the BMX Race Program
  • Support in VIP hospitality program
  • Routine safety inspections, reporting, and cleaning as assigned
  • Provide feedback to evaluate and evolve the facilities
  • Support in content capture for key programming events; weekly camp awards, sports specific contests and programming
  • Provide unique perspectives and feedback that aid in the development of BMX Race
  • Carry out the Woodward Guest Services standards – Be Safe, Be Friendly, Be Helpful, Be Proud.
  • Support operational departments in carrying out the Woodward mission in creating a safe and fun environment for all campers
