We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 to be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary. Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned. This will be a 2nd shift position: 2:00pm - 10:30am M-F.

Requirements

  • Ability to continually learn through on-the-job training, independent training, and research.
  • Intermediate mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Intermediate plumbing experience to include but not limited to assemble, install, and repair drainpipes, fittings and fixtures of drainage systems in light commercial and industrial applications required.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment schematics.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Keep accurate work records and follow Good Document Practices.
  • Willing to work overtime and/or support unplanned activities.
  • Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
  • Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift, and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment.
  • Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains facilities equipment in use-ready state.
  • Supports installation, startup, and commissioning of Capital Projects.
  • Uses communication skills to effectively resolve problems with technical personnel including department managers, supervisors, and outside technical support.
  • Collaborates with employees and contractors to ensure efficient completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, including the workshop following good housekeeping practices consistently.
  • Travels between facilities to support all functional areas.
  • Orders and stocks supply, spare parts, and equipment.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
  • Performs monitoring functions and basic operating functions for the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Responds to after-hour security calls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
