The position involves providing support services for the Production, Scheduling, and Controls Team, which operates 24/7 and is currently supported by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The role focuses on enterprise scheduling and analysis using BMC Control-M software, monitoring job schedules, and consulting with various technical teams to optimize operations. The operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting, system backups, and maintaining documentation related to IT systems.

  • Provide support services for the Production, Scheduling and Controls Team.
  • Perform enterprise scheduling and analysis utilizing BMC Control-M software.
  • Monitor and analyze job schedules and consult with appropriate functional, programming, and technical staffs to optimize job schedules.
  • Monitor and support the information technology and systems infrastructures.
  • Conduct analysis including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of information technology tools.
  • Respond to triage requests submitted by Tier I and II specialists to provide guidance and support for system needs and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems in an efficient manner with minimal supervision and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
  • Run tests on and maintain operating system and related software.
  • Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and perform data recoveries when necessary.
  • Perform root cause analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring on various production systems.
  • Engage in the planning and designing of new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain relevant systems documentation and user guides.
  • Assist with creating and reviewing technical system recovery plans to reduce downtime in case of outages.
  • Review the problem management register and identify actions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Ability to maintain government clearance or investigation.
  • Experience with Windows/Unix systems administration.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Unix Application Support.
  • Familiarity with Web Server technologies (IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic).
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve basic/routine system hardware, software or networking related problems.
