Purpose and role of job: We are seeking an Extrusion Operator for our First Quality Print & Packaging facility located in Anderson, SC. Extrusion Operators are responsible for operating a machine in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner.

Requirements

  • Completes all required training and assessments.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate orally and written.
  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years manufacturing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Blown film experience is a plus.
  • Prior computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Follows necessary GMP, OSHA, SQF regulations/guidelines.
  • Keeps records of the operation of the machine and troubleshooting that was done.
  • Maintains quality standards for the product.
  • Ensures the proper materials are in place in a timely and orderly fashion
  • Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean.
  • Assists maintenance personnel as required.
  • Assists with the training of other employees as needed.
  • Must be able to solve problems and root cause analysis.
  • Must meet First Quality’s core values and principles.
  • Must be flexible in work hours, dependable and committed to First Quality and producing a quality product.
  • Expectation of a challenging and learning experience and willingness to be taught.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from high ground.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
  • Conducts job in a manner which complies to the food safety program (SQF).
  • Reports food safety problems immediately to supervisor or a QA team member.
  • Takes actions where appropriate.
