Join us and be part of our success!  Summary: Collects blood from each flock every 30 days, 30 samples per house.  Collects Blood and fat samples prior to flocks processing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to qualify for the company driver program.
  • Must have a blood license in Georgia.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

  • Bleeds pullets and Breeder hens as scheduled.
  • Collects fat and blood samples prior to processing
  • Prepares and delivers samples to State of Georgia Poultry Lab.
  • Makes out a weekly schedule. Assistance in the delivery of day-old pullets to the Farm.
  • Weighs and adjusts feed weekly.
  • Responsible for spraying Pullet vaccine on a weekly schedule as needed.
  • Assists Pullet Manager in weighing and moving pullets.
  • Assists Breeder Manager in weight breeder flocks.
  • Understands animal welfare policy.
  • Other duties as assigned
