Blood Mobile Driver Job Description Schedule : Monday-Friday Availability needed 3:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. to schedule an 8-14 hour shift Monday-Friday. Weekly overtime available. Paid travel time in a company vehicle

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
  • The ability to demonstrate a strong customer service orientation.
  • Self-motivation and the drive to work in an environment that relies on teamwork to meet goals.
  • A positive attitude, along with ambition, organization and service spirit.
  • Prior experience in truck driving, or driving large vehicles.
  • Must have a current Missouri class E driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be 25 years old to be eligible for the company's auto. insurance policy.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Able to comply with overnight travel schedule and flexible working hours.
  • Able to stand continuously for a minimum of six hours.
  • Able to climb in and out of truck cab and cargo box.
  • Hand and finger dexterity.
  • Able to load and unload all mobile equipment (approximately up to 100 pound range).
  • Visual and auditory acuity.

Responsibilities

  • Drives assigned vehicle to and from sites in a lawful and safe manner.
  • A physical, fast-paced, indoor/outdoor position in which you will load, unload and reload equipment and supplies according to daily requirements.
  • You are a key component in providing excellent customer service and a positive attitude to our Donors and must build rapport with all staff, volunteers and external customers.
  • Assumes responsibility for proper storage and handling of blood.
  • Responsible for the care and disposal of biohazardous material.
  • Performs paperwork related to daily operations.
  • Performs blood container labeling functions as assigned.
  • Assists collections staff with donor reactions.
  • Provide customer service and demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Adheres to established dress code.
  • Assists with observational aspect of new MUO training at bloodmobile site.
  • Knowledgeable of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations and maintain log books and related information accurately and completely.
  • Provides excellent customer service, cultivating positive working relationships with all staff, volunteers and external customers.
  • Exhibits safety, accuracy, respectfulness and efficiency within specific job tasks.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
