Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, good manual dexterity, and the ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Minimum height of 60 inches to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
  • Prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process.
  • Collaborate with your team to transport and setup equipment at the collection sites in local communities.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors.
  • Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.
  • Take the time to personally connect with donors and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Be detail-oriented to ensure that the blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites.
