About The Position

The Blood Bank Laboratory Supervisor at AdventHealth is responsible for managing laboratory processes and workflows, ensuring quality control, and overseeing the training and performance of laboratory staff. This role involves analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens, requiring a high level of expertise and knowledge in laboratory practices. The supervisor will also assist department leadership in achieving operational goals and maintaining outstanding customer service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology field.
• Three years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Laboratory Supervisor Level Licensure in appropriate specialty for licensure states, or national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist for non-licensure states.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned aspects of laboratory processes or shifts, including workflow and quality control.
• Write and review laboratory procedures and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Train new employees and provide advanced problem-solving support for customers and coworkers.
• Assist department leadership in meeting operational goals and maintaining quality control practices.
• Prepare staff schedules and workflow assignments as required.
• Manage quality assessment and technical oversight, including problem-solving and scheduling.
• Oversee hiring, coaching, and termination of employees with limited supervision from leadership.
• Assist with Standard Operating Procedures and document control.
