About The Position

Join the Infrastructure & Platform team at a high-growth crypto derivatives exchange that is rapidly capturing market share in a multi-billion dollar annual sector. Our clients current focus is on building a multi-asset margin feature that leverages blockchain technology to allow users to post variable forms of collateral, which is essential as multi-asset margin comprises over 86% of crypto accounts. You will play a pivotal role in designing, architecting, and deploying highly reliable, scalable blockchain services with lightning-fast performance. You will lead the development of mission-critical core infrastructure that powers their products, enabling them to bring financial venues directly to the user. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for building the core components of a high-throughput, low-latency distributed system, focusing heavily on performance and cryptographic integrity.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience building blockchain-based distributed systems and consensus engines.
  • Expert proficiency in C++, Rust, Zig, or other low-level languages.
  • Deep understanding of consensus protocols (e.g., PBFT, HotStuff, Tendermint) and distributed systems theory.
  • Strong knowledge of cryptography fundamentals, including hashing, Merkle trees, multisignatures, and elliptic-curve cryptography.
  • Solid networking experience, covering TCP/UDP, QUIC, peer discovery, and NAT traversal.
  • Hands-on experience with key-value store databases (e.g., RocksDB, MDBX) for efficient state storage and high-throughput access.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Core Systems Development: Develop foundational components including storage layers, execution engines, transaction pools, gossip protocols, and state-machine replication mechanisms to deliver high-throughput, low-latency performance.
  • Consensus Engineering: Implement, harden, and extend consensus algorithms (e.g., PBFT, HotStuff, Tendermint) to guarantee safety, liveness, and high performance under real-world network conditions.
  • Performance Optimization: Deeply profile CPU, memory, I/O, and network stacks, identify system bottlenecks, and push performance limits across the platform.
  • Cryptography Integration: Integrate diverse cryptographic primitives, including hash functions, Merkle proofs, digital signatures, encryption schemes, key-exchange protocols, and zero-knowledge proof systems.
  • Networking & Transport: Design and implement reliable networking components for peer discovery, NAT traversal, connection pooling, load balancing, congestion control, encrypted networking (TLS), and multiplexed transports (e.g., TCP, UDP, QUIC).

Benefits

  • Salary: $200,000 - $400,000 annual base salary.
  • Equity: Generous company equity package.
  • Health: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with Health Savings Account (HSA) options.
  • Time Off: Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Retirement: Retirement plan (e.g., 401(k)) with employer matching contributions.
