About The Position

The Blending Technician is responsible for energetic materials blending, storage, testing and record keeping. Reporting to the Value Stram Manager. The Blending Technician position supports environmental testing of development and production products. Duties include: Prepares and processes explosive powders for production use. Maintains detailed records for powder delivery, issuance, cycle counts and disposition in accordance BATF regulations and standards. Performs volatility and calorific testing. Supports powder loading operations as needed. Ensuring that all required paperwork is present during the shift, and is being completed and used according to appropriate MI and Router. Complete competence and understanding of Manufacturing Instructions and drawings to ensure all products meet specifications. Directs and assigns work to employees within their specific area/line as needed to reach Safety, Quality and Production goals. Notifies Manager/Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions or problems that are impeding Safety, Quality or Production. Ensures that all safety concerns are communicated and addressed in a real time basis. Ensures employees are following Safety measures required for job requirements and SOP. Keeps area clean and always organized. Reports any Safety and/or Quality concerns to the Manager real time. Communicates any performance concerns to Production Manager. Ensures all activities are aligned with company Core Values. Occasional heavy lifting, travel and overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma (Associate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and interface with individuals at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving and communication skills are required.
  • Candidates must be able to interpret and execute test requirements provided in written specifications.
  • Knowledge of explosive materials and/or ordnance devices is beneficial.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an aerospace industry is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a energetic blending and testing and storage environment.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel Proficiency
  • Chemical processing both wet and dry.
