This position operates the blending system to produce the concrete mix.
Requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures
Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, and write effectively (English and Spanish bilingual preferred)
Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision
Basic mathematical skills (i.e. ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
Basic computer skills
Ability to pay attention to details
Ability to train other employees
Responsibilities
Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
Operates the controls of the batching and delivery system to produce the proper concrete mix
Follows and adheres to production schedule
Provides feedback to optimize batch mix
Ensure all mixing and cement delivery equipment is clean
Monitors the activities of the batching scale for sand, cement, water, calcium and if used, liquid pigment
Ensure proper levels of raw materials are maintained in the holding bins or silos
