About The Position

This role is responsible for set up, operation, and tending to mixers to blend such raw materials (dry or liquid, color pigments, or compound) according to formulas. Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be Safety oriented.
  • Strong communication skills--Able to communicate verbal/written (English)
  • Basic math skills required (including fractions/percentages/simple excel formulations).
  • Computer Literacy -- Able to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook
  • Must be detail oriented, accuracy for inventory is critical
  • Ability to climb stairs, & ladders to mezzanines & silos up to 70 ft in height.
  • Demonstrate integrity, flexibility, sound judgment, respect for people, and good critical thinking skills.
  • Experience utilizing mobile equipment (forklift)
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with manufacturing/ plastics extrusion industry desirable
  • Product (vinyl siding) knowledge desirable

Responsibilities

  • Work safely, completing daily safety audits, hoist inspections, spill/emission report, and reporting FA/NM to prevent accidents and increase the safety environment of the work area.
  • Acknowledge your area as a High-Performance Team Environment-all tasks shared and improved operational activities.
  • Communication within/shift to shift/all departments
  • Load ingredients into/onto scaling system and operate all blending systems
  • Drive forklift/ME (maintain ME Certification) to move materials around as needed
  • Create, monitor, and report product blends & daily Productivity/Downtime reports
  • Clean Blending/silo areas, Rail spur, raw material storage area, docks, stabilizer building daily--shift-to-shift audits for condition and improvements
  • Load / Unload materials from railcars-maintain the blue flag requirement
  • Receive and unload trucks as needed
  • Assist all departments as needed (Packing, Grinding, Moving Products by forklift, etc.)
  • Perform accurate weekly materials inventory
  • Maintain Dumpsters/Compactor
  • Support R&D as needed
  • Support Maintenance group by identifying mechanical issues & creating work orders
  • Maintain and accurately record and report silo inventories
  • Read and respond to company emails
  • Knowledge of all equipment/systems of the compounding area
  • Knowledge of all raw materials associated with compound-SDS, safe handling
  • Knowledge and understanding of the prescribed formulas-how raw materials interact
  • Understanding of how your product affects your customer (extrusion)
  • Understand COA's and procedures
  • Daily/weekly rail car updates/reports
  • Maintain FIFO on all raw materials
  • Adhere to all Standard Work
  • Additional tasks assigned by management
