About The Position

The Blend Technician is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, and blending ingredients according to specific formulas, production schedules, and quality standards. This role is essential in ensuring that products meet consistency, safety, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing or a similar role involving blending, batching, or mixing.
  • Strong math and measurement skills; ability to read scales, calculate ratios, and follow recipes accurately.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate production records.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and hygiene requirements in a food-grade environment.
  • Must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Flexible and reliable, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blend sheets, work orders, and production instructions to prepare accurate ingredient blends.
  • Weigh and measure food-grade ingredients using scales and other measuring tools, ensuring precision and consistency.
  • Operate and monitor blending to ensure proper mixing of ingredients.
  • Verify that raw materials used are correct, within expiration dates, and meet quality standards.
  • Label and document all batches with detailed production and lot tracking for traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of blending areas and equipment before, during, and after operations.
  • Follow allergen control and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and report any inconsistencies or deviations to the supervisor or QA team.
  • Record production data including ingredient usage, batch numbers, yields, and downtime.
  • Assist in inventory management of raw materials and report low stock levels to purchasing or inventory control.
  • Coordinate with QA, sanitation, and packaging teams to ensure seamless production flow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including proper handling of equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings related to production efficiency and product quality.
