About The Position

The Blend Technician III is responsible for performing advanced blending operations on aerospace components with a high degree of precision. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of materials, blending techniques, and aerospace component specifications. The Blend Technician III is expected to take on complex repairs and ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or 2 years of related experience.
  • 2 years of blending experience in aerospace industry.
  • Highly skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Understanding of aerospace materials and component specifications.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to perform blending tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of previous blending experience in an aerospace MRO environment.
  • Experience with complex repair projects and advanced blending techniques.
  • Experience operating machine hoists or additional heavy equipment.
  • Relevant additional certifications or specialized training in aerospace blending or machining.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced blending, smoothing, and contouring of aerospace components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accurate blending and compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections of complex components, identifying areas needing repair and determining the best methods to address non-conformities.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted.
  • Perform minor assembly and disassembly of engine components according to standard practice manuals and maintenance instructions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing input on process improvements and assisting in the implementation of new techniques or technologies.
  • Provide support to day-to-day operations and partner with internal teams on technical data, process determination, and complex parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
