About The Position

The Blend Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of blending and packaging processes in a production environment. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The operator will be involved in staging raw materials, following recipes for blending, packaging products, and maintaining cleanliness in the production area. The position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Food product packaging and/or blending experience preferred.
• Shipping and/or receiving experience preferred.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and follow through to completion.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Solid understanding of basic math and science and the ability to apply this knowledge.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be detail-oriented and safety-minded.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to be forklift certified required.

Responsibilities

• Understand and effectively utilize all employee safety programs to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Act immediately upon unsafe conditions or behavior.
• Stage required raw materials and packaging materials.
• Follow a recipe to create a blend to be mixed.
• Follow procedures to package product in various packaging types.
• Complete in-process production checks.
• Document, inspect, and unload materials per written procedures.
• Prepare products for shipment, load trucks, and complete required paperwork.
• Operate a fork truck and floor scrubber.
• Maintain warehouse and production areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform routine and non-routine cleaning inside and outside of the facility.
• Accurately report data and maintain records.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Work as part of a team and independently.
