About The Position

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing the production and blending of high-quality feed to Tyson Mills and Customers at the lowest cost possible. Ensuring compliance with all local state and federal regulations along with safety regulations. This requires keeping a daily ingredient inventory for Tyson and FDA Compliance and managing team members in Production Housekeeping and Preventative Maintenance. Key Responsibilities Feed Management: Ensure high-quality feed production and delivery at the lowest cost. Compliance: Maintain daily ingredient inventory for Tyson and FDA compliance and obtain daily driver reports for DOT compliance. Team Supervision: Manage team members in Production, Housekeeping, and Preventative Maintenance. Scheduling and Ordering: Coordinate production schedules, ingredient ordering, feed recovery, preventive maintenance, and parts ordering. Continuous Improvement: Utilize tools and methods to maximize feed quality, production efficiency, and delivery performance. Safety Leadership: Lead the safety culture, provide training, and communicate effectively with the team. Customer Concerns: Address, feed quality, delivery, and recovery concerns from customers. Budget Management: Manage operations according to budget development and capital plans, including preparing capital requests. Communication: Maintain close communication with the manager, drive key metric improvements, and liaise with the complex toll-milling partner. Maintenance: Manage maintenance department team members to ensure mill equipment and PIT equipment is maintained through a PM Program, parts inventory management, and growing talent. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Agriculture, Business, or equivalent management experience.
  • Experience: 4+ years supervisor or management experience in feed mill and feed delivery management.
  • License: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record per Tyson Fleet Safety Manual.
  • Travel: Minimal travel is required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in generating letters, spreadsheets, and creating queries.
  • Biosecurity: Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered, required to sign a Bio-security agreement to avoid any non-commercial avian species examples: chickens, ducks, birds, parakeets, parrots, etc. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 55lbs. Ability to walk up and down stairs Ability to climb ladders Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach. Ability to work at Heights as needed.
