About The Position

The Blasting Technical Representative at Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is responsible for providing field blasting support, developing and presenting training programs, and evaluating blasting techniques and products. This role emphasizes operational excellence and promotes advancement opportunities within the company, which is employee-owned. The representative will also assist in project planning, technical reporting, and safety policy development while ensuring a commitment to safety in all operations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in the drilling and blasting industry.
  • At least 2 years in a technical-focused position.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid state driver's license with access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug/alcohol test.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check for ATF.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to the use and handling of commercial explosives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Blasting Technical Training.
  • Ability to obtain valid Blasting Certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and facilitates the application of blasting techniques and products.
  • Provides inter-company technical reports on blasting applications, procedures, and results.
  • Provides hands-on assistance in the planning and development of blasting projects as needed.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of blasting plans and procedures.
  • Develops blasting-specific best practices guidelines for the company and its operating standards.
  • Assists with project reviews to reduce costs and ongoing blasting product testing.
  • Investigates blasting incidents and related issues.
  • Supports business development initiatives and technical support communications to employees.
  • Participates with the Blaster Training Committee and Blaster Training Programs.
  • Participates in monthly Foreman and periodic safety and job meetings as needed.
  • Attends daily heads-up safety meetings.
  • Performs out of town and state travel to worksites as necessary.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the 'Safety First' mantra throughout the company.
  • Provides oversight and direction during the technical training process.
