About The Position
A Blaster at Marmen Energy is responsible for the surface preparation of parts, specifically focusing on the mechanical shot blasting of wind tower sections and manual shot blasting of flanges. This role is crucial in ensuring that the products meet the high-quality standards set by the company. The Blaster will prepare the blasting booth for incoming sections, which includes cleaning and identifying the parts. They will also be involved in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical equipment within the blast booth. The position requires performing mechanical shot blasting on the entire wind tower section and manual shot blasting on the flanges, followed by a visual inspection to check for color, rust, or surface defects. After blasting, the Blaster must remove all particles from the section and inspect the part using measuring tools to ensure it meets the required thickness and finishing surface standards. Additionally, the Blaster will complete necessary quality documentation and may need to move various equipment using an overhead crane or forklift. Other duties may be assigned by the Production Supervisor as needed.
