The Blaster/Painter is required to have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a marine facility or shipyard environment. Required to have a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential), valid driver's license, and First Aid & CPR. The Blaster/Painter will perform blasting and painting utilizing marine coatings to specified contract requirements. Will be responsible for seeing that multiple surfaces have been prepared for the application of high performance coatings. Will oversee the proper use of solvents, acids, detergents, and power and hand tools. Responsible for having knowledge of various blast methods and equipment to oversee the painting and coating of vessels, tanks, and equipment. Will have knowledge and ability to direct the blasting of abrasive-laden compressed air or water against metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt to impart even finish. Must also be knowledgeable and have experience in marine hydro blasting. Required to oversee the use, care, and maintenance of the blasting equipment. Will inspect all blasting/painting equipment regularly, perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and maintain adequate parts and supplies.
