About The Position

Transco Railway Products, Inc. is seeking a Blaster to operate blasting equipment for the removal of rust, scale, paint, and other foreign materials from the interior and exterior of railcars and related equipment. This position emphasizes teamwork and safety, with a work schedule on the second shift from Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Ability to operate blasting equipment effectively.
• Experience with surface preparation of railcars and components.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on blasting equipment.
• Physical capability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
• Strong teamwork skills and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate blasting equipment to remove scale, paint, and other foreign substances from railcars and equipment.
• Adjust equipment as necessary for efficient and proper blasting.
• Prepare surfaces of non-finished railcars and components using various blast media methods.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures for blast and recovery systems.
• Work in adverse weather conditions as required.
• Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Lift up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in materials and work areas, reporting potential hazards.
• Work effectively within a team environment with regular and predictable attendance.
